Love Online

Background Information
belle-kelly-train-station.jpg

*The Piermont train station, renovated by volunteers and now the museum of the Piermont Historical Museum, is a fit memorial to one of earliest online Valentines imaginable.

* In 1897 in London alone, there were more than 300 telegraph offices, open from 8am to 8pm, dealing with 300 million telegrams.

* This was really the first-time in human history when people who lived at a distance could fall in love, without having never met each other.

* Perhaps one of the most remembered  'Telegraphic Romanticism' novels of its time was the book - 'Wired Love' - see book cover below.
